MOrbyd
Bio: Hailing originally from Southeast LA, CA you will find another sick ghetto creation known as Morbyd. After spending a childhood of violence, murder, and mayhem he was quickly sent to somewhere "Safer". Denver, CO. Throughout the past 14 years I've been through the music scene like a madman. Originally starting my first band "Subreption" in 1994 it was instant passion for the art and making music became more a mix of obsession and passion. The band didn't last long due to the fact we were all still very young and had no clue what to do and lacked sense of direction. During the next 4 years I found myself going to a mental institution in order to try and regain some amount of sanity. During this time I never set down the guitar or the pen. Not even for a moment. When I came back to Colorado I went to a correctional boot camp and this is when things began to pick up. I found Zach and Dennis Simmons through going to this boot camp. We re formed subreption and recorded a total of 2 songs, but since the commute for practices was over 2 1/2 hours this project was soon to fail. A little time after I found a guy by the name of Nikia West who was a music major and knew far more than I about music theory and the methods used to create music. Him and I came up with the name "Apocalyptic Visions" and set out to find other band mates. He ended up finding a drummer by the name of Russ who had formerly left the band Chronic Minds. Things were going great and we had recorded a total of 10 songs and were about to do something. Then Nikia had to move and it was just me and Russ left. I found a bass player and a singer. My good friend Deeno and a former friend Comatose Esquade. Russ soon left because he wanted to focus on his family and didn't have time to dedicate to music which was an understandable reason. We found Comatose's friend Gyro and it was a new beginning. It was like we were all meant to play music. Within the first day we had created 5 new songs in entirety which was amazing. I had done the managing, booking, promoting, and websites. I finally landed us our first gig at Invesco field because I so happened to work with a lady who was doing the booking for this event "A fight against police brutality". Not long after this good news Gyro was shipped out to war and next thing the singer went crazy on a crack binged and robbed multiple 7-11's and McDonalds, as well as running over 900 dollars worth of bad checks through my bank account. I tried my best to forgive and even gave a good character reference since even his own family turned their back to him. Another break occurred and then Comatose get's out of jail and asks me to join their Band "Illuminati" I was to be the bass player and he had bought me equipment and a bass as a payback for what he did(or so he said). We did 38 shows in 3 months all over Colorado. We were about to do a show at the Gothic Theater with a group called Psychostick. They told me that they wanted to take the equipment to tune it all up and make sure it was perfect for the show. Turns out they were stealing my equipment and kicking me out like the chicken shits they were. After this point there was no turning back. I was done with Comatose's dilutions and bullshit so I set out on music on my own terms since trying to collaborate with others had failed so miserably. That band is soon to die off anyway and the band Comatose joined, he'll just mess over. During the time I was working with Illuminati I was working on my own side project entering the realms of the Horror core scene infecting Denver. A friend of mine told me of a camp that had appeared and gotten big since I was off in the metal world. He introduced me to Qrem Dela Qrem and then Qrem had me meet scum and through Scum I met fiasco. Since then the music has been flowing. And have done many shows as an Independent artist. During the year of 2008 I had a total of 28 DEA agents and 12 local cops bust in my door, because I got set up by a chicken shit and my roommate. They searched everything and only found a total of .3 grams of some of Colorado's finest herb. All that work and force and they come to find close to nothing. I later harassed a witness and had to do 4 months and am on 6 years of probation with a 6-12 year aggravated sentence with an additional 4 years of parole. As soon as I got out I started recording like a mad man and have a arsenal of music awaiting ears.
